    Why use fire and create all those toxic fumes if you’re just going to use a hammer to smash the slots open anyway? Just use some pliers to pull them off in the first place.

    Unless you have like a ton of old circuit boards you are not going to get enough gold to pay for the time and effort to recover it.
    Any given circuit board will have only MICROGRAMS of gold plating on connector fingers or contacts or on the CPU.
