Death Reviews: Sumosys 700 – "Retro" Gaming System

Death reviewing video games? It could happen! Join the Reaper in reviewing the Sumosys 700 gaming system! Far from playing the latest and greatest, this system takes all the classic video games from yesteryear and fits them into one tiny box!

The companies selling these may seem iffy, but this one at least seems to perform as the makers boast – if their website hasn’t been taken down yet, that is… So join Death for a look at the Sumosys, and see how he feels about playing games that give you multiple ‘lives’!

Great Review. I’ve been looking for a retro console myself, there are so many with as you say, possibly shady sources and reviews. I almost got a Retron5, but then you need all the cartridges just for emulation…not worth it. Just curious…on the Arcade portion how many games does it have? Also does it by chance have any Japanese games?

There are a few Handheld games that would benefit immensely from being on a larger screen – for example one of the better versions of columns is on the Sega Game Gear.

Also sometimes the Game Gear version of a game was better looking that the Master System version. I’d like to try my hand at some of those Game Gear Exclusive Sonic games on a Big TV sometime.

I would suppose that any device that has all those ROMs in it probably isn’t what would be called ‘official’. My guess is that the companies put these things on the market, try to squeeze out the cash really fast, and disappear on purpose so they can’t be sued … only to reappear next week under another name.

Hi does this system have Thomaa The Tank Engine? My brother has autisim and is obsessed with the game as it was made for sega and super Nintendo. Tried to find a list of gamea but nowhere to be found

Fun fact the side bar recommendations for me on this video are for Peppa Pig
(No I’ve not been watching Peppa Pig vids – I prefer The Clangers)

Many games are missing sound effects. Donkey Kong for one on mame has a lot of sounds missing. Is there anyway to get these audio files implemented

I bought one as i wanted everything all together. Since then I bought a bigger memory card and go on a certain site to get my own "images" that i use on a different retropie.

I thought your rival would have been modern medicine. Bringing people back to life all willy-nilly, the nerve! Well that or Jesus and his resurrection BS.

Can you leave it connected to the wall, or have to unplug it when not using it

Don’t you mean medium rare? *rimshot.* πŸ˜›

It looks like a raspberry pi, with a custom case, cheap controllers, and a pre-loaded sd card. The legend of zelda game you played looked like an nes bootleg version of the snes title "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past".
    Sounds fun πŸ™‚

Damn internet websites pulling their Micheal Myers trick. Seriously why did Micheal chose to be a salesman when the slasher killer industry went under? At least he came out of retirement to return to his dream of slashing horny teenagers despite the status of the industry.

So is The Simpsons arcade game like that for everyone? They select Marge for you as soon as you get to the character select screen. Is there any way to be able to select Homer, Bart and Lisa?
