How To: Turn an Old Office Computer into a Gaming PC!

In this video I show you guys how to upgrade an old office pc for gaming. I talk about what kind of parts you should upgrade in an older system and how to change out each part. This in my opinion is the best way to put together a cheap gaming pc.

For $200 you can buy one of these Dells with a 4790 or 4770. Then just drop in a SSD for $40 and a RX570 for less than $100

  35. Tony D on March 10, 2020 at 2:20 pm

Hi Matt. Thank you for making and posting this video. Question: ¿Does the case you have shown contain a fan at the front face (blowing into the enclosure), please? I have a similar (Gateway) case, (with side perforations as your shown). And, am wondering if I can reuse it for some new parts (Micro ATX MoBo, Ryzen5-3600, some mid/low GPU [~$140-170]). (I like said Gateway case, as it has an optical drive bay at it’s front, and saves me $ from purchasing a new one). Any comments/suggestions welcomed.

I got a Fujitsu Celsius W410 that was no longer needed at work.
Nice little machine with an i7-2600 and 16GB RAM.
Thing is though, that the motherboard only supports those weird 16 pin power connectors, so I can’t swap the PSU for a bigger one, and the only relatively cheap motherboard I have been able to find for sale in Denmark (<$150) only has 2 RAM slots and extremely limited features (Biostar IH61MF-Q5).
As it sits now, it has an nVidia Quadro 2000 in it, wich actually requires more juice than the PSU is rated for….

When you put back that junk CPU fan I stopped watching because it’s not upgrade anymore. Also you mentioned DDR3 chipper than DDR4 , for that old motherboard DDR4 not even an option to even mention DDR4 it’s not compatible LOL 😂

I am fine with my Pentium 4.

  50. Kamronius on March 10, 2020 at 2:39 pm

So I wound up getting a msi gtx 770 on Ebay for $60 and I thought it would fit but the drive cage in my 790 got in the way of it. Is the 770 that much bigger than the 760 or is it just the way Msi designed this particular card? I’m pretty sure I got the same 790 in this video. Mini Tower version right?
