Single Board Computer + GTX 1650 Can it Game? ODYSSEY / ReComputer SBC
In this video I wanted to see if we could get an external GPU working on the all-new SEEED STUDIO ODYSSEY – X86J4105800, The Most expandable Win10 / Linux Mini PC with 8GB RAM. Powered by the Intel J4105 Quad-Core CPU with 8GB of LPDDR4 and 64GB’s of Emma 5,1 storage.
So I stuck a Low profile GTX 1650 on this little board using an M.2 to PCIe X16 Adapter! Can it Game? Let’s find Out

Awesome channel and great vids man!
Can it run Star Citizen? 😛
i am once again asking for Manjaro KDE
You could run Intel XTU on that thing and see what keeps it from being at boost all the time. Possibly under volt to give you more headroom for boost.
O Gargalo é o Processador!!!!
U should not use that floppy power to run the card , u can find many cards with 75watt tdp and has a 6pin .. 6pin is much better to power it can handle much more power u can add the 12v with a 100watt psu. U may have instability with that power .
Better buy an RX550 or 560 ?
Can you revisit the rockpro64, I feel it’s software matured enough to be reviewed
$2 billion in GTAV? How’d you do that??
Yes: I was waiting for this.
My 30 dollar junk computer with a 5 dollar card smashes this thing, The price is stupid
Would Pop!_OS provide you with the better driver options for a Ubuntu distro?
I would prefer you to use GT 1030 or GTX 1050 for SBC it won’t bottleneck as much as GTX 1650
literally got a porn ad on this video when I don’t even watch, nor do I have personalization turned on. do you upload anywhere else? YouTube has been sketching me out more and more each day and I’m ready to quit.
You’ve epic games installed but didn’t show us fortnite 😶 can you run it whenever you get the chance and let me know what the fps is on high settings
Nice SBC – on first view we have additional 4 PCBs to connect to it. This is not SBC anymore, and if its not I don’t see reason to not use regular motherboard just in small form factor if its needed.
Will this board work good for industrial using SolidWorks or AutoCad with CAM software?
What external GPU would you recommend without bottleneck?
Thanks in adavnced
nice video and setup i was looking for something small compact with nice graphics thanks
I am wondering if the Odyssey mine XMR and what kinda Hashs we get out of it? also out of curiousity could we get some GPU mining?
For only $700 you can play gta5 1080p at 30fps. Lol I love your videos. it’s a cool test and fun to tinker.
Interesting experiment!
Totally impractical but very cool. Thanks for doing crazy stuff like this. This is the kind of fun "what if" stuff you think about but never do because it costs money. I appreciate you doing it for me.
Considering that you wish to try a Linux distro.!
Was curious about how it runs Retropie especially when it comes down to the emulators being N64 , PS2/3 also GC also higher end Mame type.
Very curious to see if results improve with the add-on external GPU card.!🤔🤓🤗
Does the GPU get it’s PCIe lanes full?
Just buy a ITX board and were is the techno music ffs
Would it make a good Adobe Creative Suite Rig?
This would be a savage setup for an affordable machine learning rig.
YES FINALLY THANK YOU FOR TRYING
So what was causing the "bottle-necking"?
I can’t remember it being mentioned….
I really want to see AMD single board PC
Nice One dude. Wish we place it on a smaller ITX case,
Wonder if this could he a good option for virtual pinball cabs
Can you put a Quad Port Ethernet Adapter on it and do some network tests?
Can you install hackingtosh on it
Are you sure this thing is a SBC?
Ok isn’t a 1.5Ghz 4 Core CPU More powerful than a Tegra X1 which is in Switch ?
If you’re going for a Linux test then Mint is really the best option.

That’s essentially the console experience of the game in current gen. Comparisons show 1080/30/medium is about what they got on base models.
Think the best solution is PALIT gtx1050ti FANLESS !!!!
Only time I see gtx 1650 bottlenecked by cpu
Hi. I’m curious. What’s the smallest form factor device that will comfortably run PS2 emulation?
This setup vs AMD V1807B 🙏
We need an pico itx board with an AM4/AM5 socket. imagine putting a 3400g in a tiny board like that
Using these benchmarks, I can see this as a good machine for pre Win 10 games. Especially if I can get it to install Win 8 on it too. I hope it performs better.
This is a impressive single board computer.
This of course is a fun project but for better price to performance with this underpowered CPU (+held back by PCIe bandwidth) a GT1030 is probably a better option. I do genuinely wonder how the performance and price to performance compares to a MINI-ITX RYZEN APU build with an overclocked integrated GPU. The device footprint isn’t smaller if you add a dedicated GPU so a MINI-ITX build without a dedicated GPU would be a fair comparison.
Please try Debian with this board
I love those low height GTX 1650s, thinking of putting one in a 2u server case for a small low end workstation machine
Plug the "PC" in your powerbank and your ready to go!
Choking off the cooling fan there 3:38
