This took a long time to build and weld the steel and it is probably over built but it looks great and will be perfect for where it’s going.

When it comes to my soulmate of 24 years, she tells me to not worry about the mules just
load the wagon 😀 I watch your process with enthusiasm. One thing I noticed during the
tacking process was when you tacked from the top side opposite the 2×4 it appeared to
Pull the tubing up and the 2×4 became loose and settled into a more vertical position with the leg adjacent to said 2×4 ,causing me to think if you had clamped 2×4 to the leg vertical to the leg and tacked from the bottom next to the 2×4 that might have pulled it to the 2×4
utilized to attain the alignment desired

Inspirujący film. Piękne biurko. Świetne narzędzia, widać dużą wprawę posługiwania się nimi. Chyba masz olbrzymie doświadczenie. Ogląda się to z przyjemnością.

    what wood is this?

  8. Research and Build on April 13, 2020 at 3:05 pm

You dont need biscuits. The glue is stronger than the wood, its been proven

  10. Bret Lambky on April 13, 2020 at 3:06 pm

Great video, what if after you were done you had the whole thing sandblasted. At least the finish would be consistent throughout..

  13. Jacob Liston on April 13, 2020 at 3:10 pm

If you end up doing a glue-up like you did on the top, try using some cauls next time. They’ll help you keep them flat easier.

  14. Hank Chinaski on April 13, 2020 at 3:11 pm

Looks nice, but, expansion and contraction might be an issue as you didn’t coat the underside of the wood with epoxy. I’ve seen epoxy peel up from a shelf that didn’t have the bottom sealed.

Why is it yanks are always master this and master that from what I see they have all the gear and very little ability now your average handy Brit can make anything with scrap using accent hand tools and they don’t describe themselves as a master carpenter or fabricator etc, Dear Americans get a grip you couldn’t build a could case of haemorrhoids signed british men in there sheds 😂

Finally found a steel supplier that was open to the public. Started on my own tonight, going to use this quarantine time to learn how to weld decently (hopefully)! Making an L-shaped desk, very similar to your construction

    I have two questions

    1. How do you feel about the magnetic squaring clamps people are using?
    2. Have you considered making a live edge top?
